Goodbye 2007. Welcome 2008.

Congratulations, I think I have advanced my way up the 'slackest-blogger' board. Sorry for the 'no-update' session the last 2 months, I'm just stuck with blogging I think because the same case are happening in other blogs I'm managing.

There are a few words I would like to share before we end the year 2007 and enter the year 2008. I am excited with the ministry for next year as I believe God is preparing something awesome for us. Before we end the year, which is about 11 days left, let us take some times and think of what we've been through the last 354 days, especially in this ministry. What have we contributed? What have we achieved? What have we improved? Who have we touched? and how have we blessed God?

There are these two words that came to my mind for the last 2-3 months and It's always been my motivation for next year: "Deeper Level". I hope you're not bored with this words but it does always means much more every time I think about it. Deeper, not deepest, hence there's always something more.

Let us raise our standards for next year. Improve what we have not improved, serve better than we had the day before, dedicate more time into the ministry and relationship with God. Let us see our mistakes and let's learn from it. Let us see from others achievement and let's learn from them. Let's be a better minister!

Let us come to realize that what we are doing is a very important aspect in our church service. Understand that what we do, could possibly change one's life.

"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." - Isaiah 43:19

God is prepared to do great things through us, are you? Let's prepare the field.

Israel Houghton & the New Breed - A Deeper Level (Book/CD)

Hi, finally an update. Sorry for the long delay after weeks and weeks of assignments and thesis I tried to spare my time here for an update. First of all CONGRATULATIONS to our ngetjiplag winner Agnes/Marcel, 21st Avenue, and Riki.

An update this week is on the newest album and book by Israel Houghton called A Deeper Level. Which is exactly what Ir. Welyar Kauntu talked in the sermon during the H2O service last Saturday.

The album was magnificent, one of the most uplifting Christian album I've ever heard so far. It is so powerful and you can feel their desire to change the generation of the world.

Here's a clip of Israel Houghton singing solo one of the key song in the album: If Not for Your Grace.

I just found today too that Israel, along with this album, has released a book with the same title as the album A Deeper Level. I haven't buy it yet but it surely going to be the top of my things to buy (and read) this week when I get the chance to go to Koorong.

Here's some excerpt on the book:

I feel the weight of responsibility in this matter. I feel that any of us who have been given any kind of platform of influence in this world have no choice but to use what God has given us to make a difference—a significant difference—in the lives of widows, orphans, and the elderly.

It was a bittersweet epiphany when I saw Bono, the lead singer of U2, introduce his latest social effort, “Product Red.” This is a licensed brand that he created with such companies as American Express, Apple Computer, Converse, Motorola, The Gap, and Giorgio Armani. Each company has created a product that carries the Product Red logo and gives a percentage of the proceeds to fight AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. In announcing the effort, he said, “Product Red is a result of us seeing a problem and forcing consumers worldwide to do something about it.”

Later, in an interview with Bill Hybels, he said, “We are doing this because the church of America has not. She’s still asleep!”

When I heard this, I felt angry and hurt because I knew he was right. Therefore, I restate my claim that it is impossible to call ourselves worshippers, or worship leaders, and not be moved—even consumed—with God’s heart for justice, compassion, and effective change toward “the least of these” around our community and around the globe. I refuse to do another concert, or have another great gathering of believers, and not do my best to rally us as the body of Christ to consistent, authentic justice and measurable change.

The Stirring of Change

For me, this began around 1994 when I started to make visits to Africa once or twice every year. In 2005, we released a live worship CD that was recorded in Cape Town. The people there have always captivated me. When we play there, I see the radiance of the faces of these people who literally walk miles to hear us play. I know their feet hurt. I know that they are either going to walk back or cram onto a bus with a bunch of other people in order to return to a home that is nothing close to our American standard of a house. It is probably constructed of tin and has no air conditioning or even running water. And yet I watch them in worship, saying, “Jesus, I love You. You’re the greatest!” It’s amazing.

At some point, I decided that I couldn’t experience all of that and then go back to Houston and lose it within a week. I was moved, and I tried to figure out why. I kept feeling God’s heart so close. It wasn’t about me feeling bad for being affluent or American. I think it was simply God showing me that these were people I liked hanging out with. But He was saying, “If you want to hang out with Me at a deeper level, you’re going to have to tap into this.”

The Least of These

Not too long ago, I felt myself in this moment of worship, and I was saying all the right things: “God, You’re here. We just sense Your presence. Blah, blah, blah.” And I truly heard God say, “Dude, I’m not even here.” That tripped me up because there is nothing theologically correct about it. Obviously God is omnipresent—ever present, everywhere. And I certainly don’t think that God goes around calling people “Dude.” I just know what I heard.

That led me into Scripture, where I saw the kind of people Jesus was drawn to, and conversely, the people who got under His skin. I was really struck by His words in one particular passage of Scripture in Matthew:

“I was hungry and you gave me somethingto eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was inprison and you came to visit me.” Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?” The King will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:35–40)

It has become clear to me that, according to this passage, Jesus not only cares for the poor and the broken; He identifies with them. He is with them, and they are a part of Him. They are one and the same. Where you find them, you will find Him!

Stronger Each Day, Show Me Your Ways

SHOW ME YOUR WAYS

Show me Your ways
That I may walk with You

Show me Your ways
I put my hope in You

Cry of my heart is to love You more
To live with the touch of Your hand

Stronger each day
Show me Your ways

------------------------------

I came across this song yesterday. A very old Hillsong music and it was very refreshing. Feeling tired after work and uni, listening to this song made me feel so much better.

Are we still walking side by side with God?

Or are we leading our own way while God is walking behind us?

Do we still hold on to His words?

Can we still worship Him with the words of our heart?

Try as we might, we won't be able to live on our own. When troubles come, our faith will be tested.

Let's not depend on our own strength. How much longer can we survive? Our capabilities are limited. It wouldn't take long before we realize that we can only withstand the storms in this world only with the touch of His hand

Stronger each day,
Show me Your way.

Thanks for the Contributions at TONG Cafe!

Successful TONG Cafe 2007! Congratulations buat semua panitia yg udah organize and of course all the PW members involved in it!

Just to name a few, thanks to

Chris Nafie for coordinating the Bands!
Raymond, Larry, Samy, Adhi, and Agnez for playing with NOBO
Marcell and Annes for taking care of Sound System
The Raynors yang udah bantuin angkat2 alat musik before the event
Others that I can't mention individually, thanks!

And specially to our EMPEK EMPEK + RISOLES Team:
Reret, Lala, Lili, Angeline, Michael and Jon Mahadi!!!

Believe it or not, EMPEK-EMPEK was regarded the most famous Indo food at the night. We sold out everything and I've been hearing a LOT of people were complimenting the taste. Believe it or not, it was actually the same EMPEK-EMPEK sold in Manise. But these brilliant girls and boys have cooked it and mixed it so well that it taste even better!

Thanks to all of them!!! All the profit collected will go into PW cash for future makan2 in our core day.

The band for NOBO was also so cool. Agnez told me yesterday that she was so impressed and said that "our Church's musicians are sooo cooolll!!!!".. I think she was enhanced with the way the filler keyboard played.. or the person himself.. or maybe both.. *ahem*

Anyway, thanks a lot buat dukungan semuanya!!!

We have next big event ngetjiplag 07 and event ini adalah salah satu signature event departemen PW kita.. So everyone please support and make this event a memorable one too :)

Sekali lagi thanks and be blessed!

All glory be to our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Giving My Best - Life Is Calling (2007)

After declaring that nothing is ever impossible and that the best is yet to come, GMB (Giving My Best) is once again thrilled to remind us that Life is Calling.
With the ten new songs and an additional remake song, the new album was released this June 2007. Unlike the previous album, Life is Calling will be recorded in the studio. A two-hour live concert was also being held on June 19th 2007, at Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta.

In conjunction to the success of last year's concert, GMB will once again be working with YADA, a company which profit is used to support the social and charity foundation called YCAB (Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa).

The preparation for the new album itself has started since February 2007. Having been inspired by the incredible musicians such as Switchfoot, Muse, Angels & airwaves, etc, GMB is offering nothing but the high quality inspiring songs.
The title "Life is Calling" is intended to give two meanings. The Bible says that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Therefore, life is calling means Jesus is calling. It is also a positive invitation to start living, and stop wasting our lives as youngsters. With an experience of more than a decade, GMB is now more laid-back in the process of making the new album.

"I just hope that the songs will touch the generation and inspire them to live their life to the fullest. Stop living in vain, because Life is calling!" stated Sidney Mohede (taken from www.true-worshippers.com)

Album Updates!!!

DISCLAIMER NOTICE:

I finally took an extreme step to share some albums online. I have never been and never wanted to be a supporter of piracy. However, since I have seen our people are lack of initiative in buying original CD copies (even sometimes too lazy to burn or borrow from others), so I'm sharing it here so that us can have more resources on Christian musics and hence better us in our ministry.

A new LIVE recording album from Hillsong church Australia is finally coming to your way. The new album titled "Saviour King" is packed with 14 powerful song that will surely inspire your worship lifestyle.

Before the first note was sung, Darlene declared the truth of Psalm 27:4: “ONE thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the House of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek Him in His temple”.

The new songs included on this album are exactly that – songs with life, energy and, ultimately, heartfelt adoration for our Saviour, Jesus Christ. The title track ‘Saviour King’ has become an anthem in Hillsong Church of late, and was sung at both the opening and the close of the evening.

Planet Shakers - SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD (2007)

It's finally here!

Recorded at Planetshakers Conference in January 2007, SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD is the latest Live Album release from Planetshakers. As a nation stood to their feet, giving glory to the Saviour of the world, God heard the cry of a rising and united generation, longing to see their nation and the nations of this world bowing the knee to Jesus Christ. The result is 13 brand new songs including; "Praise You" "So In Love With You", "My Healer" and title track "Saviour of the World".

Make sure you listen to track number 1 "Praise You". That will surely go to our praise and worship song!

Because He likes it

A father gave his small kid a gift, a guitar so that his son can learn and play a song. It was months, even years, before his kid can actually play the instrument..

But then one day the kid who was only a few years old, played a song with the guitar for his father.. it may not be the best song he had ever heard, but it was certainly the best thing he had ever felt! How grateful was the father to see that what he gave to his kid years ago became something that his son was good at..

Little by little his son grew older and so did his skill.. Everyday his father would listen to the song as his feeling grows deeper and deeper in love with the way his son played the guitar.

Until one day the son started to get lazy and bored.. He was grown up and started to get busy with lots of things and he never played the guitar for his father anymore.. His father had hardly listen to his son playing's ever since..

His father missed it so much.. he picked up the guitar hoping he could play it himself so he can get a listen of what his son's guitar playing was like.. but he couldn't! He was just not that good in playing the instrument.. he listened to other people playing's, and even though it was good but it's just not the same with his son's.. the feeling was different.

As years went by.. the father can only kept the memories in his heart.. He could only hope that one day his son would pick a guitar up and play for him again.. but it never happened.. his son was too busy with work, friends, and never bothered with his father much anymore.

Until one day his father passed away.. the following day his son was packing his father's stuff in his father's drawers, until eventually he found a guitar case.. it looked a bit old. He remembered how he used to play the guitar for his father. So he opened it.. and he found a brand new guitar! It had got to be expensive, it's clean too. Every corner, string, and part of it seemed to have been cleaned all the time.. not a single dust could be found on the guitar. And there in the box he found a note lying.. he opened it carefully as he read what was written on it:

"Dear son, I bought this guitar for you. I have bought this since you were a teenager because I believed one day you would be a very good musician. Maybe not famous, but enough to keep me smilling.
The first moment you played me your first song, I had tears in my eyes. Maybe you didn't realize that because you were so young. But every notes you played, was a joy to my heart.
I was hoping you would play it again for me.. so I kept this guitar for you, believing that one day I can hear that song again, the song from your heart.
Love,
Dad"
The son cried so hard, he regretted all the things he had not done and there's nothing he can do to bring his father back to this world and play a song for him again. It's only in funeral, where he could play his guitar again.. it may not be the best song in the world, but he knows that it would the best for his father.
THE END
(this story was inspired by a true story)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

God created you with a voice,
Because He likes it when you sing

God created you with a musical talent,
Because He likes it when you play music

God created you with TWO hands,
Because He likes it when you clap & lift your hands to Him

God created you with TWO feets,
Because He likes it when you jump in joy

God created you with a body,
Because He likes it when you dance

God created you with all that you are,
Because He likes it when it is YOU
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PS: Why worry about how good or bad you do it? God likes it because it's you who's doing it for Him!

why LOVE?

Bored, exhausted, and burned out. It's one of the normal phases we Christians usually face. This happen usually when we are living in a routine, had no faith and hope, never help others, does not serve God, and thus lost our excitement and became burned out. Maybe those are the usual situation.
But what if it tell you that: You may have done everything, but still get burned out?

These verses in Corinthians may not be the 'favourite' phrases for most Christians, neither it became a 'favourite' topic about love. But what I found out recently about these verses, is that they were very core and it reflects clearly the life of people in these super-busy world time.
"THOUGH I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing."

(1 Corinthians 13:1-3)
Amazing isn't it? Everything became NOTHING when you have not LOVE in you!
So let's look deep into ourselves. Maybe we've cared for others, helped others, served God every week, maybe even sacrificed the whole thing just to be a blessing. Yes, you will see other people blessed, smile on their face and all..
But can you see the smile in yourself?
Or, maybe you had faith. You prayed and miracles happen, you gave phrophecy, you lead worship or shared a word of God and everyone around you were always blessed. Or hope.. you are a powerful leader, influenced other people, and never giving up in any situation.
But do you feel the blessing yourself?
Trust me, if you've already searched your heart and understand these verses, it will all became clear that everyone needs love! That is why in 1 Corinthians 13:13 it says:
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE."
I hope you'd understand, 'why LOVE?'
God Bless,

A Lesson From a Farmer

"The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops." (2 Timothy 2:6)

Can you imagine a farmer who just decides one year that he really doesn’t feel like planting? He tells himself he’s so tired that he is just going to wait around and hope that the harvest will come. But even people who aren’t farmers know that a farmer has to get his seeds into the ground while the time is right to plant if he ever wants to see a harvest.

In farming, the seed always precedes the harvest—and that’s true in our lives as well. In other words, if you want to reap happiness, then you have to sow some seeds by making other people happy. If you want to reap financial blessings, you have to sow financially. If you want to reap friendships, you have to be a friend first. And when you do these things, you’ll be able to share in the harvest along with those you have blessed!

The BIG question is: What are YOU planting in your ministry and life?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi all,

Welcome back to the ifcpw.blogspot.com .. Whether you're here just to check the schedule or to shout a comment or to read posting.. I hope you would give your time to read the posting today!

I just received that article above today from Pastor Daniel in his email. When I read it, it striked me real well. It actually is quite relevant with the previous posting in here.

Let's start again with these two simple questions:

1. Do you have hopes/plans in your life, ministry, or anything?
2. If so, what have you done so far?

When people live without hope.. they are probably as good as dead.. that's why a lot of people chooses death over life because they see no hope in their life.. they die spiritually and it will eat their life sooner or later.

I believe in our ministry, it's almost the same deal. If we minister with no hope, there is nothing in it and it will be as plain as soup without salt (Sorry, but I am feeling hungry at the moment).. If you minister for (say) 1 year, and within those time you don't see any growth in people you are ministering to.. maybe you should first look into yourself and see if you yourself aren't growing. Because when you serve God and when you do it with the right attitude, the blessing has got to be obvious.. in other people, or atleast in ourselves.

So let's all of us together start look into our heart and ponder on this points..
- why do we minister?
- who do we serve?
- what have we achieved?

Let's have hopes in our ministry and start serving that way.. let's hope to see people's life's changed! let's hope to see our life's changed! and don't give up if you haven't seen the result yet.. just like the farmer who has to wait for the right time to see the crops harvest, therefore us will need to be patient to see our blessing harvest at right moment!

In your life will go the same.. don't worry about job, financial, or relationship.. the more we seed, the more we will harvest in the future. Remember, whatever it is you are doing in God's glory.. it will NEVER go in vain!

I hope this posting has been a blessing. Leave a shout if you feel like encouraging each other.

God bless and have good day!

Quitting?

Dia tahu persis hidupMu, Dia tahu persis kebutuhanMu, Dia tahu persis dirimu.. Dia tidak akan menelantarkanmu atau mengecewakanmu.. Dia berjanji!

So temen-temen.. those of you who are today think about quitting.. dont do it!

Alas, gua cuma mao bilang.. FINISH IT STRONG! Because in the end it won't matter how you start it, but how you end it.. mari hadapi permasalahan kita dengan kekuatan Allah dan hancurkan serangan musuh.. karena Dia besertamu, siapa lawanmu?

Take care, Gbu

MARCH 2007: An Exciting Updates!

Hello Guys! Welcome back from Holiday.

There are numbers of Updates, so make sure you read them all!

UPDATE 1: As I've promised you all, although I was 1 week late.. But, finally the new CHORDS & LYRICS ARCHIVES LIBRARY is ready for use! Please find the link on the tab on the side (maybe it would be down in the bottom if it's not there.. I will need help for someone to fix it :P)

So, let me brief you on the Chords & Lyrics Archives Library. If you can't find the link simply click here.

1. Here you will find a file called Updates For Songs which will show you all the list of the songs that are updated including the date modified and most importanlty the Numbers. Why numbering? I'll explain it later.. but make sure you open that file first before going anywhere.

2. You will find 2 folders named Fast Songs and Slow Songs. Once you entered one of them, you will see the files are not shown in full name, which makes it hard for you to pick which one is the one you want. Thats where numbering comes in handy. Follow numbers from the Updates For Songs.pdf file, and it will open the corresponding song you want.

3. Can't open it? Well, maybe it's because they are in .pdf so you will need Adobe Reader to open the files. Follow the link under the Songs Archives Tab in this website.

So there you go! Find the songs you need without much hussle. I will update these songs as often as I can.. You can also request a song by emailing me or leaving message in the shoutbox.. Surely you can also submit songs if you want to help me out.. Working together always works best! I know there are only 42 songs for a start. But it will grow.. please leave any feedback as this is the first time ever we're releasing this.

UPDATE 2: About my promise on comic and articles.. this will be a new one.. but it may not be found only on the web.. NEXT WEEK, you will find some pieces of paper on the speakers on the stage with some articles in it that will encourage, remind, and refresh you with our ministry in Praise and Worship. You may treat this paper as a PW NEWS or you may find it handy to use the back of it for notes. Since this will be our first copy, it will be in black and white. But please take a notice of it, and have a read, and be blessed.. and FEEDBACKS are welcome! Check it Out ok?

Regarding Songs Library, it's not up yet.. no exact date of when it should be done. But I'm hoping we can release our usual website ifcpw.net back to work! By the way, I hope you guys noticed that I am very busy.. a lot of these things are done by myself.. So I would be very grateful if anyone would help me with web managing or other things you can do that you might find useful for this website.. I need your help!

UPDATE 3: And finally, our FIRST EVER produced in 13 years of Praise and Worship Dept ministry (probably).. that we have released our own PWD TSHIRT!!! Some of you might have seen Amelia receiving it.. the front design is exactly as the new banner on our website. I hope you guys will like it.. Next Week it will be on SALE for only $10 per piece!! Oh btw, it's a compulsory to buy!! See the pictures below:
