Out with the Past, In with the Next!

G'day folks!

In this glorious June, I am posting up the news that broke everyone to tears last month. Okay.. no one cried.. but it's a pretty big news for IFC Praise and Worship Department. :P

For those who haven't heard the gossip, which is true by the way.. I, (Annes, head of Dept PW for the past 2 years - in case you don't know) will be replaced by the new and more dedicated yet not as handsome leader.. who is *drumrolls* : RAYMOND KARYADI. *followed by clapping of hands*

Raymond, who is bravefully and unafraid of death, has stepped up to the platform to take this position so let's appreciate and support him! All the best, mate.. :)

While me, I just want to say thanks for the support while I was on the platform the past few years. It's been marvelous serving and leading in the best department in IFC. To lots of people I could not mention here, I thanked you from the depth of my heart.. lots of you supported me incredibly and surely my thank you will never be enough to repay all that.

Nevertheless, I'll still be worship leading and strumming the banjo for Sunday & H2O service. So no matter what, I am still with the coolest PW team! ha!

Viva El Presidente, Raymones Karyadi!

xoxo,

Annes
- former presidente of PW Department

Newsbreak 2: Another song change!

Sorry for another song change but this one should make your life easier. The last song Sentuh Hatiku will be replaced by Kau Kugami by Franky Sihombing. We will sing the chorus only.

Again, may I remind you.. we may not have a time to practice together with everyone until gladikotor. Even so, a lot of people might or might not be able to come to gladikotor. So there is only little time for us to practice as a team.

So please practice as much as you can at your own time. God bless. :)

Newsbreak - change of songs for IFC 14th Anniversary

Hi guys, with much consideration, the last song of the songlist for PW IFC 14th Anniversary (Saviour by Samy) will be changed to a more familiar song, which is Sentuh Hatiku by Jason

You can download the song by right-clicking and save target as... this file HERE.

And for those who needs the chords & lyric you can get it HERE.

So, the final songlist (and it will never change) will be:
1. Open the Eyes of My Heart (Sonicflood)
2. Kami T'rima (TW)
3. Yesus (TW)
4. Lord, You are Good (Israel)
5. You're the One (KS)
6. Sentuh Hatiku (Jason)

As we don't have much time practicing and while we have 90% of the songs downloadable through the website.. I hope all of you can spend most of your time practicing at home/work/uni/car.. bring the songs wherever you go! Listen to the them and let them burn in your head so that on the day we can all give the best even with minimal practice together.

Please note a practice together with singers & musicians (maybe dancers) this Sunday. Hopefully almost everyone are ready and are able to make it.

God bless you and I pray you do perfectly well in your study and work. All your sacrifices and good deeds will never go in vain. While human can only appreciate & remember them so much, it is all recorded eternally in the Book of Life.

Blessings,

The ‘small’ Truth about Praise & Worship

Why do we lift our hand(s)?
Why do we clap our hands?
Why do we jump?
Why do we dance?
Why do we sing and shout?

When it was first introduced to the world, a lot of Christians think that it was wrong, sesat, and unholy in the presence of the Lord. But a bunch of Christians pushed on, they can’t help it but to dance like David danced. Not long after, a lot of people realized how great it is to actually be free in His presence!

“therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed!” – John 8:36 (NKJV)

We are free indeed!

There are no limitations to how people should worship God as long as it’s with their whole heart. But sadly to a lot of people, and maybe us, we limit ourselves. We have the paradigm to not get to fanatic when worshipping God. We say that, “I can still feel God, worship God, and magnify God even without all the clapping and jumping.. as long as my heart is right”

True enough, I can do that too. But why do that when you can give so much more?!

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” – Mark 12:30 (NIV)>

Why did God mentioned strength? While God mentioned heart, soul, and mind.. the only fleshy thing He mentioned was strength. Why? Because He knows that we’ve got so much more to offer as a human however old you are.

I once saw a man on a wheelchair.. he was paralyzed from neck to feet with only very little capable movement.. yet he lifted up his hand whenever He worship God. He gave all of his strength!

What about us? Young, healthy and not on a wheelchair? I don’t know about you but I’m giving my everything while I still have the chance!

Let’s give our whole heart, soul, mind, and even strength whenever we worship God. Make it the best expression of love from yourself to God. Remind Him of how much you are in love with Him and touch His heart.

God bless you. Be free!

Tips & Hints EDISI 2: Looking for Christian Songs Online

Okeh, finally setelah sekian lama gak buat section tips and hints ( 3 tahun tepatnya =P ), kini ifcpw blogspot mempersembahkan tips & hints EDISI 2: Looking for Christian Songs Online!

Including Christian songs, YES, bener, including Christian songs. I'm not teaching you guys to be a pirate here, I'm against it personally, but sometimes kita yg melayani butuh denger lagu dan karena CD or lagu itu gak mudah di dapetin di Australia (karena harga or karena di negara luar Indo), jadi internet menjadi sarana yang baik banget buat kita denger lagu2 baru terutama rohani.

So here's tips for you. Get y0ur pen and paper because it's gonna be HOT! (apa sih...)

Cara search di google, misalnya kita mo cari lagu GMB judulnya Life is Calling. Keywords nya GMB Life is Calling Download Multiply. Maka keluar tuh hasil search nya mas Google.. cari yg link ke web multiply.com salah satunya website si ronzlee.. kalo dibuka nanti ada lagunya.. right click di download terus pilih save target as.. pastikan anda udah login kalo mo save lagunya. Otherwise bisa denger streaming dari webnya.
  2. indomp3z.us : Ini officialy forum sharing music Indo punya.
Including teks and lyrics yg lumayan lengkap. Kalo mo download lagunya bisa aja sih pake Safari web browser. PM me kalo mo tau caranya. :)
  5. Youtube.com .. yah emank paling lengkap ini nih.. tapi ga semua ada sih karena kan dalam bentuk video.. tapi bisa aja pake sebagai alternatif. Safari web browser juga bisa download video2 di Youtube.

Yah sebenernya masih banyak yg masih pakai p2p software seperti Kazaa, Limewire, or lewat Torrent. Tapi menurut gua html paling safe and easy karena gak repot install2an.

But remember, the most effective way is still buying the original CD from Indo. So, support the artist okeh! hehehe.. hope this helps and improve your musical knowledge.

Blessings,

Goodbye 2007. Welcome 2008.

Congratulations, I think I have advanced my way up the 'slackest-blogger' board. Sorry for the 'no-update' session the last 2 months, I'm just stuck with blogging I think because the same case are happening in other blogs I'm managing.

There are a few words I would like to share before we end the year 2007 and enter the year 2008. I am excited with the ministry for next year as I believe God is preparing something awesome for us. Before we end the year, which is about 11 days left, let us take some times and think of what we've been through the last 354 days, especially in this ministry. What have we contributed? What have we achieved? What have we improved? Who have we touched? and how have we blessed God?

There are these two words that came to my mind for the last 2-3 months and It's always been my motivation for next year: "Deeper Level". I hope you're not bored with this words but it does always means much more every time I think about it. Deeper, not deepest, hence there's always something more.

Let us raise our standards for next year. Improve what we have not improved, serve better than we had the day before, dedicate more time into the ministry and relationship with God. Let us see our mistakes and let's learn from it. Let us see from others achievement and let's learn from them. Let's be a better minister!

Let us come to realize that what we are doing is a very important aspect in our church service. Understand that what we do, could possibly change one's life.

"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." - Isaiah 43:19

God is prepared to do great things through us, are you? Let's prepare the field.

Israel Houghton & the New Breed - A Deeper Level (Book/CD)

Hi, finally an update. Sorry for the long delay after weeks and weeks of assignments and thesis I tried to spare my time here for an update. First of all CONGRATULATIONS to our ngetjiplag winner Agnes/Marcel, 21st Avenue, and Riki.

An update this week is on the newest album and book by Israel Houghton called A Deeper Level. Which is exactly what Ir. Welyar Kauntu talked in the sermon during the H2O service last Saturday.

The album was magnificent, one of the most uplifting Christian album I've ever heard so far. It is so powerful and you can feel their desire to change the generation of the world.

Here's a clip of Israel Houghton singing solo one of the key song in the album: If Not for Your Grace.

I just found today too that Israel, along with this album, has released a book with the same title as the album A Deeper Level. I haven't buy it yet but it surely going to be the top of my things to buy (and read) this week when I get the chance to go to Koorong.

Here's some excerpt on the book:

I feel the weight of responsibility in this matter. I feel that any of us who have been given any kind of platform of influence in this world have no choice but to use what God has given us to make a difference—a significant difference—in the lives of widows, orphans, and the elderly.

It was a bittersweet epiphany when I saw Bono, the lead singer of U2, introduce his latest social effort, “Product Red.” This is a licensed brand that he created with such companies as American Express, Apple Computer, Converse, Motorola, The Gap, and Giorgio Armani. Each company has created a product that carries the Product Red logo and gives a percentage of the proceeds to fight AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. In announcing the effort, he said, “Product Red is a result of us seeing a problem and forcing consumers worldwide to do something about it.”

Later, in an interview with Bill Hybels, he said, “We are doing this because the church of America has not. She’s still asleep!”

When I heard this, I felt angry and hurt because I knew he was right. Therefore, I restate my claim that it is impossible to call ourselves worshippers, or worship leaders, and not be moved—even consumed—with God’s heart for justice, compassion, and effective change toward “the least of these” around our community and around the globe. I refuse to do another concert, or have another great gathering of believers, and not do my best to rally us as the body of Christ to consistent, authentic justice and measurable change.

The Stirring of Change

For me, this began around 1994 when I started to make visits to Africa once or twice every year. In 2005, we released a live worship CD that was recorded in Cape Town. The people there have always captivated me. When we play there, I see the radiance of the faces of these people who literally walk miles to hear us play. I know their feet hurt. I know that they are either going to walk back or cram onto a bus with a bunch of other people in order to return to a home that is nothing close to our American standard of a house. It is probably constructed of tin and has no air conditioning or even running water. And yet I watch them in worship, saying, “Jesus, I love You. You’re the greatest!” It’s amazing.

At some point, I decided that I couldn’t experience all of that and then go back to Houston and lose it within a week. I was moved, and I tried to figure out why. I kept feeling God’s heart so close. It wasn’t about me feeling bad for being affluent or American. I think it was simply God showing me that these were people I liked hanging out with. But He was saying, “If you want to hang out with Me at a deeper level, you’re going to have to tap into this.”

The Least of These

Not too long ago, I felt myself in this moment of worship, and I was saying all the right things: “God, You’re here. We just sense Your presence. Blah, blah, blah.” And I truly heard God say, “Dude, I’m not even here.” That tripped me up because there is nothing theologically correct about it. Obviously God is omnipresent—ever present, everywhere. And I certainly don’t think that God goes around calling people “Dude.” I just know what I heard.

That led me into Scripture, where I saw the kind of people Jesus was drawn to, and conversely, the people who got under His skin. I was really struck by His words in one particular passage of Scripture in Matthew:

“I was hungry and you gave me somethingto eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was inprison and you came to visit me.” Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?” The King will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:35–40)

It has become clear to me that, according to this passage, Jesus not only cares for the poor and the broken; He identifies with them. He is with them, and they are a part of Him. They are one and the same. Where you find them, you will find Him!

Stronger Each Day, Show Me Your Ways

SHOW ME YOUR WAYS

Show me Your ways
That I may walk with You

Show me Your ways
I put my hope in You

Cry of my heart is to love You more
To live with the touch of Your hand

Stronger each day
Show me Your ways

------------------------------

I came across this song yesterday. A very old Hillsong music and it was very refreshing. Feeling tired after work and uni, listening to this song made me feel so much better.

Are we still walking side by side with God?

Or are we leading our own way while God is walking behind us?

Do we still hold on to His words?

Can we still worship Him with the words of our heart?

Try as we might, we won't be able to live on our own. When troubles come, our faith will be tested.

Let's not depend on our own strength. How much longer can we survive? Our capabilities are limited. It wouldn't take long before we realize that we can only withstand the storms in this world only with the touch of His hand

Stronger each day,
Show me Your way.

Blessings,

Thanks for the Contributions at TONG Cafe!

Successful TONG Cafe 2007! Congratulations buat semua panitia yg udah organize and of course all the PW members involved in it!

Just to name a few, thanks to

Chris Nafie for coordinating the Bands!
Raymond, Larry, Samy, Adhi, and Agnez for playing with NOBO
Marcell and Annes for taking care of Sound System
The Raynors yang udah bantuin angkat2 alat musik before the event
Others that I can't mention individually, thanks!

And specially to our EMPEK EMPEK + RISOLES Team:
Reret, Lala, Lili, Angeline, Michael and Jon Mahadi!!!

Believe it or not, EMPEK-EMPEK was regarded the most famous Indo food at the night. We sold out everything and I've been hearing a LOT of people were complimenting the taste. Believe it or not, it was actually the same EMPEK-EMPEK sold in Manise. But these brilliant girls and boys have cooked it and mixed it so well that it taste even better!

Thanks to all of them!!! All the profit collected will go into PW cash for future makan2 in our core day.

The band for NOBO was also so cool. Agnez told me yesterday that she was so impressed and said that "our Church's musicians are sooo cooolll!!!!".. I think she was enhanced with the way the filler keyboard played.. or the person himself.. or maybe both.. *ahem*

Anyway, thanks a lot buat dukungan semuanya!!!

We have next big event ngetjiplag 07 and event ini adalah salah satu signature event departemen PW kita.. So everyone please support and make this event a memorable one too :)

Sekali lagi thanks and be blessed!

All glory be to our Lord, Jesus Christ!
